First Secretary of Embassy of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China visited IEAS (CHINA)

Introduction:Ms. Tinatin Shishinashvili, First Secretary of Embassy of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China visited IEAS (CHINA) on 21 February 2019. Academician Zhao Xinli, Secretary General of IEAS (CHINA) and Ms. Lu Lily, Assistant to Director of General Office of IEAS (CHINA) met with the guest.




Ms. Tinatin Shishinashvili, First Secretary of Embassy of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China visited IEAS (CHINA) on 21 February 2019. Academician Zhao Xinli, Secretary General of IEAS (CHINA) and Ms. Lu Lily, Assistant to Director of General Office of IEAS (CHINA) met with the guest.


Zhao, firstly, showed his appreciations to Embassy of Georgia for their kind concern about IEAS (CHINA) and welcomed the First Secretary. Later, he introduced briefly the IEAS headquarters and IEAS (CHINA) , and emphasized that the most distinctive feature of IEAS (CHINA)  was that it focuses on strategic research and think tank building.


Tinatin said, she’s very happy to visit IEAS (CHINA) and her purpose this time was to discuss how the two sides carry out cooperation. Meanwhile, she said, Georgia strongly supports the “Belt and Road” initiative, as the Georgian government and relevant units have successfully held two “Belt and Road” Forums in Tbilisi, and the third forum is to be held in December this year. Therefore, the embassy would like to invite IEAS academicians and experts to be a part.


Zhao replied, IEAS (CHINA) was willing to establish friendly relations and conduct cooperation with Embassy of Georgia, and would like to offer help, such as, IEAS (CHINA) can help inviting world-renowned experts to attend international conferences hosted by the Embassy, or to provide strategic research and consulting services to the Embassy. He added, the 2019 Euro-Asia Economic Forum is to be held in this September in Xi’an (shaanxi province) under which IEAS (CHINA) will continued its involvement as the hosting organization, diplomats of Embassy of Georgia, leaders and scientists from the Education, Science and Culture Department and the academy were highly welcomed.
