On 26 April 2019, The Pakistani Delegation of Agriculture, Science and Technology and Enterprises visits IEAS (CHINA) at the request of the Chinese embassy in Pakistan. Zhao Xinli, Secretary General of IEAS (CHINA), Cui Weihong, Consultant to IEAS (CHINA) and Lily LU, Assistant to Director of General Office, IEAS (CHINA) meet with the delegation.

Zhao expresses his warm welcome to the Pakistani agricultural experts and introduces the features and advantages of IEAS (CHINA) and IEAS Academicians who study agriculture. Malik Afaq Tiwana, Chairman of Committee on Agriculture Trade Agribusiness & Investment and leader of the delegation says the second Belt and Road International Forum for Cooperation (BRF) is held from April 25 to 27. It is a great honor for Pakistani agricultural experts to visit Beijing and IEAS (CHINA).

The delegation hopes to learn from China's 40 years of reform and opening-up, especially its valuable practices in rural and agricultural development.

Zhao responds that China's ruling party and governments of all levels have attached great importance to the development of agriculture, rural areas and farmers. The No. 1 central document, featuring long-term stability of the policy, poverty alleviation targeted each household, appointing agricultural technician for each poor family, is all about the three issues for decades.

He adds, over the past four decades of reform and opening-up, China has made remarkable achievements in innovation-driven development of agriculture, rural areas and farmers. IEAS (CHINA) have many outstanding Academicians working in the agriculture domain. Therefore, we are very happy to set up a platform to give full play to the professional advantages of our Academicians, and to support the agricultural development of Pakistan by seeking cooperation possibility.

The two sides also exchange views on urbanization, solar energy balance, fruit and vegetable cultivation, etc.
