The Press Conference of the Research Report on Belt and Road Development held in Beijing

Introduction:On 24 April 2019, The Press Conference of the Research Report on The Belt and Road Initiative Creates a New Era of Peace, Prosperity, Opening-up, Green Development, Innovation and Connected Civilizations was jointly held by Science Center of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS CHINA), China Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC), China Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and The Institute for International Strategic Studies of the Central Party School of the CPC, Beijing.




On 24 April 2019, The Press Conference of the Research Report on The Belt and Road Initiative Creates a New Era of Peace, Prosperity, Opening-up, Green Development, Innovation and Connected Civilizations was jointly held by Science Center of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS CHINA), China Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC), China Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and The Institute for International Strategic Studies of the Central Party School of the CPC, Beijing.




The editor-in-chiefs of the report are Zhao Xinli, Secretary General of IEAS (CHINA), Li Minrong, Director of China Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and Liu Jianfei, President of The Institute for International Strategic Studies of the Central Party School of the CPC. The research aims at unveiling the Belt and Road development by conducting objective and quantitative evaluation and analysis based on existing data and corresponding indicators. It was carried out on the basis of the guidelines put forth in the Belt and Road Initiative, saying the Belt and Road is a road of peace, prosperity, opening-up, green development, innovation and connected civilization.


Zhao introduced the highlights of this report, he said, according to the research, the relevant development indicators of Belt and Road participating countries are generally positive. Especially after the proposal of the Belt and Road, the development indicators of the six concepts, namely peace, prosperity, openness, green, innovation and civilization have been significantly improved, and the average value of some indicators has exceeded the world average. In conclusion, the Belt and Road has made significant contributions to world development and the research result also prove the bright prospect of the Belt and Road.


Li said, the improvement of development indicators results from the joint action of internal and external factors of each country, the positive data not only requires the participating countries to give full play to their respective advantages and continue to invest in construction, but also comes from the fact that all countries share common understanding about development, and cooperate with each other and align their development strategies, so as to produce good development effects.


Finally, the report put forward countermeasures and suggestions on strengthening the development of Belt and Road in participating countries and promoting the development of the six concepts, that is, to further enhance the development of the six concepts to achieve common development, to improve the Belt and Road theoretical evaluation system and strengthen its external publicity, to strengthen cooperation and exchanges among think tanks by sharing data, policies and programs, etc.
