Vladimir S. Tikunov, the First Vice President of IEAS visited IEAS CHINA

Introduction:Vladimir S. Tikunov, the First Vice President of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS) attended the 21st General Assembly of the China Science Center of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS CHINA) on behalf of Academician Valery Bondur, President of IEAS on November 11 2018, and began his 5-day visit in China afterwards.

Academician Vladimir S. Tikunov and Ms. Tikunov paid a visit to SuperMap Software Co., Ltd on 13 November, accompanying by Academician Liao Ke, Vice President of IEAS and Vice President of IEAS CHINA, Academician Peng Gongbing, Consultant to IEAS CHINA Secretariat and Academician Zhao Xinli, the newly-elected Secretary-General of IEAS CHINA. The company is led by Academician Zhong Ershun and his team and it is a complete integration of a series of GIS platform software, including Desktop GIS, Service GIS, Component GIS and Mobile GIS platforms and spatial data production, processing and management tools. It is now a leading company in Asia. Zhong and his team received Mr. and Ms. Tikunov by introducing the company’s major business and its products. Tikunov expressed his appreciations to Zhong and what the company has achieved, and he hoped to build a SuperMap branch office in Moscow in the future.

The next day, the couple attended a seminar held in the IEAS Support Center in Baoding (Hebei province, China) with the accompany of Mr. Liu Honghai, Executive Secretary of IEAS CHINA, Ms. Liao Jiayu, Head of the Financial Department of IEAS CHINA and Mr. Lei Yutian, who was then Head of the International Cooperation Department of IEAS CHINA.

Before the seminar, the couple visited several work sites where Tikunov spoke highly of the achievements the support center has made in terms of entrepreneurship and innovation, and he also instructed that international exchanges should be further enhanced if we were to develop.

Based on the current situation, participants in the seminar mainly discussed in-depth the regional developing mode of each sub-support center. Moreover, they also exchanged ideas in several fields, such as technology innovation, technology transfer, science and technology project, market demand, etc. and explored new ways of cooperation to strengthen cultural exchanges and promote transformation of achievements.


As a faculty in Lomonosov Moscow State University, Tikunov introduced the different modes of achievements transformation adopted by Russian St. Petersburg National University and Lomonosov Moscow State University, and shared his experience in school-enterprise cooperation. Furthermore, to enhance the communication between the two sides, he said that Russia and China can seek cooperation opportunities in the fields of smart city development, intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine, comprehensive healthcare and precision medicine, marine geography, biochemistry and so on.

In the morning of November 15, they visited RADI with Academician Cui Weihong, former Secretary-General of IEAS CHINA. Prof. Gu Xingfa, Deputy Director of RADI received the guests, and the two sides talked over a meeting. Gu has showed his intention to cooperate with IEAS in the future.

In the afternoon, the couple visited IEAS CHINA and wrapped up their 5-day trip to China, Academician Zhao Xinli, Secretary-General of IEAS CHINA and Academician Cui Weihong, former Secretary-General of IEAS CHINA received the two distinguished guests. Cui introduced briefly the major work tasks and achievements of IEAS CHINA during his term. Zhao expressed his appreciations to the leadership of IEAS headquarters, especially Academician Valery Bondur and Academician Vladimir S. Tikunov for their strong support of IEAS CHINA. He was very grateful to be nominated by the Presidium of IEAS CHINA and elected by the so many IEAS Academicians to serve as Secretary-General of IEAS CHINA at this historical moment when both opportunities and challenges coexist. He also said that, in the future, he will rely on the leadership of the presidium and the support of all academicians, working diligently together with all staff to fulfill their duties by enhancing cooperation while overcoming difficulties and promote IEAS CHINA to a new high level. At the same time, he also hoped to get further support from the IEAS headquarters.


Tikunov showed his appreciations to the two secretaries for their hospitality, and extended his most appreciation to Academician Jiang Zhenghua, President of IEAS CHINA and Academician Zhang Jing’an, Vice President of IEAS CHINA for their unfailing leadership, and the contribution of each staff. He believed that, Zhao will pass down this fine tradition and make new achievements. He also thanked all academicians for their kind support of IEAS CHINA, and he hoped we will get a brighter future.

Finally, Zhao answered Tikunov’s several questions on behalf of IEAS CHINA, such as jointly running periodicals and magazines, promoting the implementation of scientific projects, and the role of IEAS CHINA in the development of the headquarters, etc.
