Introduction:Dr. Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, Former Chairman of IPCC meets with Academician Prof. Cui Weihong, Executive Secretary-General of ISRAS Kick-Off Committee and Secretary-General of IEAS (China) on 13th, July 2018.

Dr. Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, Former Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Former Director-General of Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), during his tenure the IPCC received the Nobel Peace Prize. He is now the President of World Sustainable Development Forum (WSDF).


Cui extends his warm welcome to Dr. Pachauri and gives a brief introduction to IEAS (China), the founding of International Silk Road Academy of Sciences (ISRAS), and the launching of ISRAS Kick-Off Committee. He believes that with Dr. Pachauri’s extensive experience on climate change, both sides is sure to conduct fruitful cooperation in terms of environmental protection and climate change in the future. 


Dr. Pachauri says he is much honored to have had the chance to meet with ISRAS experts in Astana in the beginning of this month. He comes to Beijing to attend the Peace Forum in Jinshanling Great Wall. And he hopes to take this opportunity to establish a cooperative partnership with IEAS (China) and ISRAS in jointly promoting exchanges and cooperation in climate change. At the same time, he warmly invites us to attend the WSDF next year.


Later, the two sides had further discussions on global climate change.
